For over 15 years, Glansevin has been a beautiful venue for all types weddings and civil ceremonies. Over the years we’ve welcomed stunning winter weddings and accommodated intimate celebrations at the start of the spring bulbs.
You can have a look at some of our previous weddings, but we have a special post just to celebrate some of the unique and exciting ceremonies we’ve had so far in 2016.
If these pictures don’t say enough, here are some of the best things about having a wedding with us, just to name a few:
- We don’t charge for corkage so you can choose exactly what kinds of drinks you want (and how much of them you want!)
- We’re a self-catering venue, so you can choose to do the food your way. Casual hog roasts or five course fine dining meals, whatever suits you. And of course we’d be happy to recommend some of the best local caterers for your time with us.
- Choose to have your ceremony your way – an intimate blessing or a full registrar wedding – we’ve accommodated all different ways of saying ‘I do’.
- We’re a dog friendly venue (T&Cs apply) so your beloved pets don’t have to miss out on your special day.

Please note that some of these remarkable shots were taken by photographers that have previously worked with Glansevin. We’d be happy to put you in touch if you too would like your Glansevin wedding to be captured by them!

Glansevin sleeps up to 56 but your event or wedding may well have a number of guests whom you cannot be accommodated entirely at Glansevin.
We are fortunate here to have a range of boutique hotels and B&B’s in the local vicinity. Being located almost exactly halfway between two bustling market towns, Llandeilo and Llandovery, we can suggest several hotels in these locations.
Firstly, in Llandeilo The Cawdor Hotel lies central to this historic little town set upon a hill. With its grandeur front palisades onto Rhosmaen Street, The Cawdor offers luxury rooms and fine dining, within an affordable price range. The grade II listed building has modern twists whilst keeping its historical appeal. Often with offers on the rooms available online, it is a great suggestion for your surplus invited guests.
Situated on the edge of Llandeilo, with stunning views over the Carmarthenshire countryside and overlooking the River Towy valley, The Plough is ideally located just on the outskirts of Llandeilo in the tiny village of Rhosmaen. Easy to find alongside the A40 this four star hotel has had recent upgrades and has a contemporary feel. The spacious rooms have recently won the tourism awards for Carmarthenshire in 2015/16.
Along the valley Northward from Llandeilo lies another local historic town, Llandovery. In the very centre of the town, we can recommend The Castle Hotel. From its roots as a coaching inn this hotel has grown and modernised but retains inglenook fires and cosy sofas where you can relax and sample their local range of ales and restaurant menu. Four poster beds mix with modern en suites ensuring the rooms will be more than suitable for your overflow guests from Glansevin.
Lastly, and very much on our doorstep, we have The Goose and Cuckoo, offering quality B&B accommodation with breakfast included. Lying centrally in our local village of Llangadog, just about a mile away, this country pub has a lovely menu, specialising in Sunday Lunches. The rooms are en suite and offer an affordable and comfortable stay.
When deciding on your bedroom arrangements, keep in mind that Glansevin can accommodate up to 40 in the Mansion itself. In the Annexe (on the same property and a stone’s throw away from the Mansion), we can accommodate a further 16 bedrooms in 8 en suite bedrooms.
Carmarthenshire is a blissful place to stay and explore, and these local establishments certainly sum up hospitality to be proud of.
We’ve had all different kinds of weddings, civil partnerships and ceremonies celebrating love throughout the years. Whether you want to have your ceremony conducted in the sprawling front lawn underneath the oak tree or inside in the warmly-lit front hall, Plas Glansevin makes for a stunning wedding venue.

We charge a fee for marquees to be put up at Plas Glansevin by your marquee supplier, and this lovely couple had their marquee wedding with us. Their wedding was featured on Oh So Perfect, have a look at it here. Thrifty tips for planning events and weddings at Plas Glansevin
Consider a mid-week event — Exactly the same venue but potentially at a lesser rate. Weekends are in very high demand, so booking on a weekday may mean a considerable cheaper quote.
Keep decorations minimal — Plas Glansevin is already a stunning Georgian mansion decorated with unique artistic pieces, you can afford to be sparing with decorations for your event, whether it’s a party or reunion. Extra tip: use in-season floral arrangements if you want to lessen the cost of flowers!
Eat local — By using a local caterer you can eat seasonal and local dishes where possible, avoiding excessive costs. We recommend Charlotte Roskill or Purple Carrot both of which are well acquainted with catering for all ranges of events at Plas Glansevin.
