Just 15 minutes drive away on the A40, Llandeilo is a beautiful market town filled with local arts and crafts shops, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and sites. You’ll find a big supermarket, pharmacy and other shops in Llandeilo.
Our favourite place to get good coffee, delicious antipasti and local treats in Llandeilo is the Gin Haus. Boasting tons of different gins and a great delicatessen, you can’t go to Llandeilo without paying them a visit.
For the chocolate lovers, Heavenly in Llandeilo offers some of the most delicious homemade chocolate, ice cream and cakes Wales has to offer. Pop in to pick up some treats to have back at Plas Glansevin or stay in and enjoy their displays of award-winning wedding cakes.
Dinefwr Castle – a National Trust heritage site
Dinefwr Castle, near Llandeilo, is an iconic place in the history of Wales. Walk up to the castle or try and spot the deer around the park. Climb to the top of the castle and overlook the river Towy (and a whole lot of sheep!)

Thrifty tips for planning events and weddings at Plas Glansevin
Consider a mid-week event — Exactly the same venue but potentially at a lesser rate. Weekends are in very high demand, so booking on a weekday may mean a considerable cheaper quote.
Keep decorations minimal — Plas Glansevin is already a stunning Georgian mansion decorated with unique artistic pieces, you can afford to be sparing with decorations for your event, whether it’s a party or reunion. Extra tip: use in-season floral arrangements if you want to lessen the cost of flowers!
Eat local — By using a local caterer you can eat seasonal and local dishes where possible, avoiding excessive costs. We recommend Charlotte Roskill or Purple Carrot both of which are well acquainted with catering for all ranges of events at Plas Glansevin.
